Rognvald’s Lith are a late Viking age (950-1100) living history society, based on a rune stone Rognvald Ingvarson had carved to commemorate his deeds. The inscription read: “Rognvald had these runes carved..in Grikland he was the leader of a Lith.”
He had travelled to the Rus lands and then onto Constantinople, where he became a Commander in the Varangian guard.
Rognvald was also a member of the Iarlabanki family from the Uppsala region.
The Lith have been active members of the reenactment scene since 2003, and are based in Lismore, NSW
