1776 – Sons of Liberty

1776 - Sons of Liberty

Our impression is the camp of General George Washington during the siege of Boston (April 19, 1775 – March 17, 1776). Specifically, we re-enact the several meetings between representatives of British Garrison in Boston and Officers of the Revolutionary Army which took place at General Washington’s camp outside of Boston.

We have members who specialise in the British High Command as well as the General Washington’s staff. Also present within the camp were recruits of both sides, scouts, sutlers, wives and camp followers.

Our encampment comprises of static displays showcasing the people and culture of the period. We engage in displays of swordsmanship, demonstrate black-powder firearms of the time, cooking, literature, music, sowing, weaving, leather and woodworking and delivery of public talks, both in our encampment and in venues at events.
